Calling All Cathedral Choir Alumni!

Have you sung in the Cathedral choir or do you know a family member of a former boy or girl chorister? The Cathedral Music Committee is building a data base that will allow us to communicate more frequently with our choir alumni. This is especially important during the 50th Anniversary year of the Choir of Men and Boys.

Trinity Institute: Radical Christian Life

Joan Chittister, OSB, hosts Trinity Institute’s fall webcast conference, which will offer tools for making the vital connection between contemplation and social action. She will be supported by workshop leaders including theologians, spiritual directors, and activists. A Quiet Morning with Icons

Jenny Neat, a stained glass artist for 30 years, has been exploring the art of writing/painting icons for many years. After Morning Prayer, Jenny will lead 3 meditations revolving around the process/theology of the icon followed by a time for quiet reflection/meditation. The morning will end with either Noon Day Prayer or Noon Eucharist. Happening #50

Happening is a Christian experience presented by teenagers for teenagers. It is designed for youth in grades 10-12. Adults who work with youth are also encouraged participate in the weekend. It takes place at the Cathedral Domain. Arrival is Friday night between 6 and 7 PM and the event ends on Sunday afternoon around 4:30. St. Paul’s Food Pantry teams with Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)

Ohio (Cincinnati Cycle Club & JDRF) had the largest number of registered riders for the Hope, IN “Hope Ride” (which supports Food Banks) in September and received a check for $2,500 toward our local food banks. Mike and I requested funds for St Paul’s! We are thankful to all the cyclists who rode in support of The Hope Ride. St. Paul’s Food Pantry . . .

Help people recover from Hurricane Sandy

Hurricane Sandy is a large, complex storm that swept through the Caribbean on October 25 before heading north along the eastern coast of the US and making landfall in central New Jersey on October 29. The storm caused significant damage as well as loss of life, and many areas are experiencing record flooding and power outages. Blizzard warnings have been issued for parts of the Appalachian mountains. Episcopal Relief & Development has reached out to partners in the Caribbean and along the US East Coast, . . .

Just as the Consecration of December 15 will be a time of feasting, we are in the planning stages of making December 1 a morning of diocesan-wide service. Begin to mark your calendars and put on your thinking caps about ways your parish-alone or in wider circles-can serve God’s world together. Some regional opportunities will be provided.
